Growing up in Brooklyn while managing a rare disability, art was an escape for me. Whether it was watching movies, painting imaginary landscapes, or making design pieces, I knew from a young age I wanted to be immersed in a world with no limits. In high school, I learned Graphic Design could be a viable educational path and fell in love with the idea of helping facilitate and communicate ideas through the marriage of design and art.
After graduating high school, I began freelancing and teaching myself all there is to know about design. I started working with local musicians, content creators, and small businesses making posters, designing merchandise, building websites, and helping to produce and grow youtube channels and video content, drawing inspiration from everything around me. The D&AD Shift program is the culmination of this work. I’ve gained a network of like-minded creatives and opportunities to work with big brands on amazing projects.
I hope to use these new experiences and skills to work towards an art director role at an agency, where I can take my love for storytelling and design to make impactful work with a focus on inclusivity and accessibility. My ultimate goal is to fund a production company or design agency committed to providing a platform for people to share their stories and plan to continue working on this as I build my career.
